Simple rituals to release emotional blocks and restore balance

In our fast-paced world, we’re constantly absorbing energy from our external worlds - people, places, devices.
If you’ve ever walked into a room and instantly felt “off” or drained after spending time with certain people, you’ve experienced an energetic shift.
Here are three powerful energy clearing techniques you can start using at home today.
Smudging with Sage or Palo Santo
Smudging is an ancient spiritual ritual used to clear stagnant or negative energy from your body, mind, and environment using sacred herbs such as White Sage or Palo Santo.
To get started:
1. Open a window or door to allow the energy to flow out.
2. Light the sage or Palo Santo and gently blow out the flame so it smoulders.
3. Starting at your front door, walk clockwise around your home, allowing the smoke to waft into corners, under furniture, and around doorways.
4. Whilst smudging, you can repeat a mantra such as: “I clear this space of all energy that no longer serves me and fill my home with love and light”
5. Finish by smudging yourself and visualising white light flowing through your body, from the top of your head down, all the way down to the bottom of your feet.
Smudging offers a mindful pause, allowing you to reset your energy and intentionally reconnect with your space.

Salt Baths for Energy Detox
Water is a natural cleanser, not just for your energy but also for your body and mind. When combined with salt, it supports detoxifying your energetic field, helps ease muscle tension, and soothes the nervous system. This simple practice can leave you feeling relaxed, grounded, and refreshed on all levels.
To get started:
1. Fill your bath with warm water.
2. Add 1-2 cups of Epsom salts or Himalayan salt.
Optional: Add a few drops of lavender or eucalyptus essential oil.
3. As you soak and relax into the water, close your eyes, take some deep breathes and visualise any heavy or stuck energy dissolving and washing away.
Salt baths help draw out physical and energetic toxins, try this after a stressful day or emotional release to feel grounded and calm again.

Dance or shake to shift stagnant energy
Sometimes, the fastest way to clear energy is to move it. When your feeling weighed down, stuck or not centred dancing or shaking your body can help release stagnant energy.
To get started:
1. Put on music that uplifts or soothes you.
2. Let your body guide you. Shake, sway, stretch, or dance freely. Closing your eyes can help get you out of your own head.
3. Focus on areas that feel tense or heavy, and breathe into them as you move.
4. Try shaking out your arms, legs, and torso to “reset” your energy field.
Movement helps shift emotional energy from the body. Dance especially connects you to joy, freedom, and self-expression, making it a powerful tool for energetic release.
